Seasonal Workshop: Cherry Blossom Dish
April 27th, May 4th (Sat)
Craft a miniature wood dish inspired by the motifs of Spring in this season of the year when flowers are in bloom. Just in time for Mother’s Day, bring along your loved ones to experience working with wood together in a relaxing workshop environment. Or, craft a handmade gift as a surprise for them.
These miniature dishes, known as “mame-zara” in Japan, were traditionally used for side dishes and condiments at the dinner table. They are also widely used for tea time snacks, utensil rests, tabletop organisers for stationery and accessories, or as small coasters.
The material for this cherry blossom dish is aptly cherry wood. Enjoy its deep reddish hues and lustre in your home.
Approximate Dimensions L 12 cm x W 6cm x T 1cm. The dishes are finished with a food-safe coating.
No prior experience is required and all tools and materials are provided.
